|Obituary posted by : Victor McKelvey , church member || Person Description|| Mother Inez Williams G. Brown, widow of Deacon Robert Brown, formerly of 1972 Arbutus Avenue, entered into eternal rest Saturday, 15 February, 2003, at a local nursing home.
Services in celebration of her life will be held on her birthday, Thursday, February 20, 2003, 11 a.m., at Canaan Missionary Baptist Church, 1561 Mosstree Road, North Charleston. Wake Services: Wednesday, February 19, 2003, 6-8 p.m. (Family Hour 7-8). Mrs. Brown lived an enriched life; her first love was that of Our Lord and Saviour, followed by her love for her 11 surviving children, her 35 grands, 40 great-grands, 11 great-great-grands, and a host of other relatives and friends. Mrs. Brown was the Mother of the Church, president of the Deaconess Ministry, a life-member and treasurer of the Senior Missionary Ministry. She was a faithful member of the New Ashley Baptist Association. Mrs. Brown was a former Sunday School Teacher, who attended Sunday School, Prayer Services, BTU, Bible Study, and all other church functions until her health declined. Mrs. Brown enjoyed cooking and baking her familys favorites. She also enjoyed gardening and fishing with her friends. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husbands, the Reverend Willie Williams (father of her children), Deacons Edward Gadsden, and Robert Brown. While her children gathered for her 90th birthday, she quietly slipped away. She leaves to celebrate her home-going: Her children: The Reverend Alfred (Sadie W.) Williams, Sr., Mozelle (Rev. Samuel) Myers, Luethel (Walter) McNeil (New Jersey), Mildred W. Williams (California), Leila M. Daniels (Texas), Isaac W. (Evelyn) Williams (Columbia), Rebecca Small (New Jersey), Bessie W. Simmons, Gloria J. (Joseph) Edwards, Susie Williams-Manning (Columbia), Leon C. (Patricia) Williams (Columbia), her brother, Mark Williams, Sister-in-law, Clara Williams, grands, great grands, great-great-grands, several stepchildren, step-grandchildren; special step-daughter in-law, Blanche Brown, in-laws, nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
