| Alleen Berry, a resident of Temple City, passed away on February 13, 2009, following a brave battle with brain cancer. Alleen was born on September 20, 1924, in Ohio and moved to California with her family at a young age. At the age of 18, she was hit by a delivery truck and was not expected to live and, if she did survive, doctors told her she would never be able to have children. She did live and years later gave birth to two sons. In 1948, she married Russell Berry. They were married for 49 years until Russell's death in 1997. She is survived by her sons Rex, a retail store manager, and Reed, a traffic safety expert, as well as grandchildren Melissa, Jennifer and Christopher, and great grandson Aidan. |
| A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday February 24, 2009, at Pierce Brothers Turner & Stevens Mortuary in San Gabriel, California, immediately followed by a procession to her final resting place, Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, California. |
