I remember seeing Willie in the afternoons after I'd taught my 3rd grade classes. He always had his radio tuned in to some "oldies but goodies" station. He would take time out just to chat and talk. I will remember him as being a very kind, friendly man.
I know his family and friends will remember him with love and have many good memories.

I worked at Nixon for four years and Willie was a shining light in my day! Everyday when he got there and I was going home, we would stop and talk about kids, family, work but mostly fishing! He loved getting my husband's latest catch. Willie was a true gentleman with a great sense of humor. I remember from talking to him how much he loved his family. God speed Willie. I will miss you.

Willie gave me some of the best advice anyone has ever given me. I carry it around with me even today. Willie was wise and kind and extremely honest. He was sincere and dependable. He was full of interesting stories and tales of adventure.
Willie C. I won't forget you now or ever. You are a dear friend who I truly miss. Peace be yours old man!
Love,
Megan

I saw Willie almost every weekday at Nixon Elementary. He would often tell me good things I could do for the plants in the Kindergarten garden. He also would offer suggestions on some things I might try with some of my more challenging kids. I will always remember him as a wonderful, sincere, wise person. I am so glad he is not suffering anymore, but I will deeply miss him.

Willie was a wise and wonderful human being, easy going, didn't seem to let anything shake him up. We spent many afternoons after school talking about events from his life (he had some great stories) and about music, relationships and life in general. I feel fortunate to have gotten to know him and his sense of humor. He always said it like it was, you knew you'd get it straight if you asked his opinion. He had no problem letting me know I had put on a few pounds. I hope that Willie is happy where he is and that there's lots of fishing there. My thoughts are with his family who loved dearly.

Willie was a generous and kind hearted soul. When I worked late at Nixon he would always check on me and made sure I got to my car safely. We had some of the best conversations about nothing in particular, just talking story. I will miss him dearly!

I feel very lucky to have Willie and several of his family members as loving friends to our family. We have been missing Willie very much since he stopped working at Nixon. He greeted us each afternoon with his sweet smile even when he wasn't feeling well. I am happy that he had time to spend with his family - gardening, cooking and fishing. The entire Brewer family is thinking of you and hope you can focus on all of your good times together. xoxo
