Born January 24, 1939 in Jackson, MI, he was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Emily Jane Slaby; and survived by his son, Gerald the second; daughter, Pam and step-daughter, Jill, who took care of him towards the end of his life. Gerry attended East Jackson High School and Michigan State University and spent the majority of his life in New Mexico.
