|Obituary posted by : Kris Hogeboom , daughter || Person Description|| Lauraine Kay Petersen. She was also dearly known as, “Rainy Kay, Aunt Rain, Grandma Pete and of course Mom.”
Born May 15, 1935 in Fairview, Montana to William H and Anne (Harper) Otis. She lived in Fairview MT., Sand Point ID, Billings MT, Denver CO, and ended up in Tucson AZ.
Her work history started as a waitress in Billings MT across the street from the Mountain Bell building literally making pennies. Soon she was an operator at Mountain Bell, then the supervisor and eventually she was one if not the first women to take on a “man’s job” as an electrician on the switch frame. Next it was switch frame supervisor, then a transfer with the phone company to Denver, retirement, contract back, completely retire from the phone company to start a cleaning business, off to work at Marana High School Cafeteria and last at Cortaro Road Walmart.
Mom was the hardest worker we knew for her family…which made us work hard for our families.
Lauraine was preceded in death by her parents, husband Rueben and her younger sister and only sibling Beverly Ann Scharosch. She is survived by her sons Jeff, Randy and his wife Lynn, Tim and his wife Karen, her daughter Kris (Kristine) and her husband Clark Hogeboom, her 9 grandchildren Amy and her husband Doug, Andy and his wife Amanda, Matt, Samatha, Brandon “Smoke”, Chase, Brianna, Dakota and Coltton and also her nephew Mike and his family, and nieces Marcy and her family, and Melissa and family.
What made her “great” were the 4 great grandkids Jake, Kaden, Ava and Allie.
No fear and nothing but love in her heart…passed away Saturday, November 16, 2013.
